Back-Talk Operator

The app for the thirty seconds between jobs

Your agent answers the calls you miss all day. Back-Talk Operator is where you check what it did, read what the caller actually said, and step in on the one conversation that needs you. Built for one hand, outdoors, in a hurry.

In development. Not yet available to download. It runs against the live product today, but there is no App Store or Google Play listing yet. Tell us you want it and we will let you know when there is.

The Back-Talk Operator home screen, showing two conversations needing a person, the callers waiting on a reply, and the threads the agent is still holding.

The one screen that matters

Read the voicemail, then take over mid-sentence

A conversation in Back-Talk Operator: the caller's voicemail quoted in full, the agent's reply offering to come by that afternoon, the caller giving an address, and the owner taking the thread over to confirm a time.
  • Three voices, never confused

The caller reads one way, your agent another, and you a third. You can tell at a glance who said what, which matters when you are catching up on a thread you did not write.

  • The voicemail, in their words

The message is transcribed and quoted with its length, so you can see what was actually asked for instead of guessing from a callback number.

  • Take it over, hand it back

One tap moves the conversation from your agent to you. Type your reply yourself, then hand it back when you are done and let your agent carry on.

  • Call back without giving out your number

Tap Call and Back-Talk rings your phone, then bridges the caller. The number on their screen is your business line, not the phone in your pocket.

Five tabs, no menus

Everything it does

  • Home

Opens on one number: how many conversations are waiting on a person rather than on your agent. Under it, the ones waiting on you, the ones your agent is still holding, and what is booked next.

  • Messages

Every thread, split by who has it. Search matches the name, the number, or the job itself, because what you remember at four in the afternoon is as often "water heater" as it is a name.

  • Customers

Everyone who has called, grouped by where they got to: new, quoted, booked, won. Open one for the job, the value, when they first called, and what your agent worked out about them.

  • Calendar

The work that is actually on the books, by day, with the customer, the time, and the job. Read it between stops.

  • Settings

Switch an agent's answering on or off, record the greeting callers hear in your own voice, and choose what you want to be told about: new leads, a conversation going quiet, a daily recap, a weekly rundown.

Built for the field

Decisions you will notice on a roof

  1. Sunlight

    Light by default

A dark screen mirrors the sky and shows you your own face. Operator opens light, and follows your phone if you would rather it did not.

  2. Honesty

It says Live only when it is

When the connection is real, it says so. When it is not, it tells you when the screen last updated rather than pretending the number is current.

  3. Guesswork

A guess is labelled a guess

When your agent works out a caller's name from the conversation rather than being told it, the name is marked. You will never read an invented detail as a fact.

It runs on the account you already have

Operator signs in with your Back-Talk login and shows the same conversations as the web app. Agents, plans, and billing stay at back-talk.ai. If you do not have an agent yet, start there and the app will be waiting when it ships.
